Our Doctors —

Dr. Brett M. Gardiner, Dr. Kevin J. Parks, Dr. Kelly Allen, and Dr. Catherine Mormile are not just dentists in Anchorage — they live, work, and recreate here, and deeply care about the people of Alaska.

Brett M. Gardiner, DDS

Dr. Gardiner

Dr. Gardiner moved to Alaska in 1994 after graduating from Creighton University's School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska. Originally planning on working here for 3-5 years, he soon realized that Alaska was the place he wanted to call home. Dr Gardiner lived in Wyoming and Utah. He attended Brigham Young University, served 2 years on a church mission in Guatemala, where he learned fluent Spanish, and then attended Creighton University’s School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska. With 25 years of experience in dentistry, he brings kindness and compassion to the care he gives his patients. When not at work, he relishes time spent with his family, which includes his wife, Kristy, and their three children; Dallin, Jared and Jenna. If not just enjoying being together, they will be found participating in church activities, the kids’ school activities or various sports, where Dr Gardiner will often be found coaching, something he loves. (He does leave the teaching of Jenna’s occasional dance class to the professionals, however.)

Kevin J. Parks, DDS

Dr. Parks

Dr. Kevin Parks has lived in Alaska for much of his life. Born on Elmendorf Airforce Base, and blessed to roam the foothills during his childhood, Alaska is in his blood.
He met his wife Tiffany during one of his brief absences from the state while they were attending Southern Virginia University. Kevin and Tiffany both played collegiate sports while attending SVU and enjoy an active lifestyle in the outdoors with their four kids.
Prior to attending SVU, Dr. Parks was a member of the University of Anchorage Alaska’s men’s basketball team (Fun fact, Dr. Howard and Dr. Parks were teammates from 97-98).
Dr. Parks has always enjoyed the dental profession as he was introduced to it by his father while he worked for several years in his father’s dental laboratory. Dr. Parks attended the University of Maryland Dental School in Baltimore. He enjoys volunteering abroad and bringing the benefits of dentistry to underserved populations.

“My goal is to provide the best dentistry possible in a personalized and caring manner. When you leave my care, I want you to feel better, and confident in the care you have received."

Kelly Allen, DMD

Meet Dr. Kelly Allen, a lifelong Alaskan who has come back to her roots to serve her community. Born and raised in the beautiful town of Valdez, she made her way to Anchorage to attend the University of Alaska Anchorage where she graduated with her Bachelors in Biological Sciences.

Dr. Allen has always had a deep-seated passion for helping underserved communities, which led her to join a volunteer organization dedicated to opening free mobile dental clinics. Through this organization, she not only provided care but also led three international dental mission trips, allowing her to immerse herself in different cultures with a goal to truly understand each patient that walks into her future clinic.

During her time as an undergraduate student, Dr. Allen's employment with the airlines gave her the incredible opportunity to travel around the world, satisfying her thirst for cultural immersion. Eventually, her path led her to Salt Lake City, UT, where she pursued her dreams of becoming a dentist at Roseman University of Health Sciences. It was here that she earned her DMD degree and graduated with honors in leadership, endodontics, and both clinical and restorative dentistry.

Outside of the dental office, you can find Dr. Allen BBQing with her friends and family, and exploring the last frontier through hiking, camping, rollerblading, and snowboarding. She believes in building trusting relationships with her patients and their families, ensuring that they receive personalized and compassionate care. Dr. Allen is excited to be back in Alaska and is eager to serve the community she calls home.

Dr. Catherine Mormile, DPT

Meet Dr. Catherine Mormile, she obtained her undergraduate education in New York and Texas. And earned her doctorate at Simmons University in Boston, MA.

And while living in Alaska, she has come to live her lifetime dream of merging, dental, medical, and physical therapeutic knowledge, and skill-base to diagnose and treat temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD).

Since 1988 as a private practitioner in Anchorage, she has provided excellence in TMD diagnosis and treatment as a clinician, consultant, lecturer, and author.

When she was a small child living near Buffalo, New York, she used to hook her dad’s hunting dog to her sled and dream about mushing in Alaska. Eventually, she came to Alaska and realized that dream, when she competed in, and completed the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race.

Outside the office, Dr. Mormile enjoys running and gardening, and with her husband, hiking, X-C skiing, caring for their beloved pets, and participating in church events.

Her husband of 40 years, Don, encouraged her to follow this unique practice from the traditional PT clinic setting into the dental office. Dr. Mormile is very grateful that Alaska Dental Care has given her the opportunity to provide her unique a TMD skill-set and collaborative philosophy from within their office.

“The only race for me now is one in which I am a skilled and dedicated team member that helps the patient to be the winner.”
